The 1140E brings voice and data to the desktop by connecting directly to a Local Area Network (LAN) through an Ethernet connection and is ideally suited for managers and knowledge workers, this multi-line Nortel IP Phone supports presentation of data and Web-centric applications on its high resolution graphical display, while an integrated USB port streamlines applications navigation with use of standard USB mice and keyboards.
Combined with the rich telephony feature sets delivered from Nortel Communication and Voicemail Servers, deployment of the Nortel 1140E IP Phone enhances personal productivity with delivery of a superior user experience for both today’s and tomorrow’s communications needs and has SIP support.
The IP Phone 1140E uses the customer IP data network to communicate with the Communication Server 1000. The IP Phone 1140E translates voice into data packets for transport using Internet Protocol. A Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server can be used to provide information that enables the IP Phone 1140E network connection, and connection to the Communication Server 1000.
